Bohus Stickning Dean

1770 kr - 4495 kr

"Dean" was designed for Bohus Stickning by Anna-Lisa Mannheimer Lunn in 1953. It was one of her last designs for Bohus Stickning. The American conductor Dean Dixon was the conductor of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra from 1953 for 1960 and Anna-Lisa thought his blue shirt was a wonderful contrast to his skin.

The knitting kit for The Dean was recreated in 2012 from original charts and garments held in museum collections. The design is available as knitting kit for a pullover/cardigan with a round yoke, as a hat and as a tam.

The garment can be knitted on black base in angora wool or in lambswool on black or gray melange base. The angora yarn is spun from 50% hand-cut angora wool from our own angora rabbits and 50% New Zealand merino wool. The lambswool yarn is spun from New Zealand merino wool and a small amount of wool from Gotland fur sheep. The pattern yarns are hand-dyed by Pernille Silfverberg to match the original yarns. With the exception of two, the pattern yarns are in angora yarn. The yarn is spun in Denmark at Henrichsens Uldspinderi.
