Bohus Stickning Kransen

2425 kr

Kransen, known as "The Wreath" in English, was originally designed for Bohus Stickning by Emma Jacobsson in the 1940s.

The knitting kit for This design was developed in 2023 from original charts and garments held in museum collections and is available recreated as pullover and cardigan with a patterned front. We have so far recreated the Blue Wreath knitted in NZ no. 68 and the Yellow Wreath knitted in NZ no. 46.

This design is knitted in our wool yarn spun from New Zealand merino lambswool. Some of the yarns also contain a small amount of wool from Gotland fur sheep from England, which gives a mottled look. The pattern piece is knitted in light natural gray yarn with natural mottling, NZ no. 2. The yarns are spun in Denmark at Henrichsens uldspinderi and carefully dyed in for each knitting kit to authentically replicate the original yarns for design. Pattern yarns, unless the base color in any other design, are hand-dyed by Pernille Silfverberg.
