Bohus Stickning Stora Nejlikan

2425 kr

Stora Nejlikan, known as "The Large Carnation" in English, was originally designed for Bohus Stickning by Emma Jacobsson in the 1940s. She also designed a similar design, the 'Lille Nejlikan.

This design was recreated in 2004 from original charts and garments held in museum collections. It is only available as a cardigan with a full patterned front. There are three colour variations for the contrast colour for this design, dark brown (no 19), yellow (no 46) or dark blue (no 61).

The garment is knitted on our Natural white base in our Bohus Lambswool. This yarn is spun with lambswool sourced from New Zealand. Some of the pattern yarns also include approximately 2% Gotland Fur sheep wool, sourced from England which provides a marled appearance. The yarns are spun in Denmark at Heinrichsens Uldspinderi and are dyed to match the original yarns. The natural white base colour is undyed and unbleached. Otherwise, base colours are dyed at the spinning mill to ensure even saturation of colour across the garment. The pattern colours are hand dyed by Pernille Silfverberg.
