Bohus Stickning Lilla Nejlikan

680 kr - 2425 kr

"Lilla Nejlikan", known in English as "The Small Carnation", was originally designed for Bohus Stickning by Emma Jacobsson in the 1940s. She also designed a similar design, the 'BigCarnation'.

The knitting kit for this design was developed in 2021 from original charts and garments held in museum collections. It is available as a pullover/cardigan with full patterned front and as mittens. The garment is available to knit with the design in either brown, red or yellow. The patterned front piece is knitted on our natural grey base. The sleeves, back and bands in your selected pattern colour.

The front of the garment is knitted on Natural Grey base (no 2S) in our Bohus Lambswool. These yarns are spun with lambswool sourced from New Zealand. The majority of the yarns also include approximately 2% Gotland Fur sheep wool, sourced from England which provides the heathered appearance. The yarns are spun in Denmark at Heinrichsens Uldspinderi and are dyed to match the original Bohus Stickning yarns. The natural grey base colour is coloured naturally without dye by the inclusion of British Gotland fur sheep wool. Otherwise, base colours are dyed at the spinning mill to ensure even saturation of colour across the garment. The pattern colours are hand dyed by Pernille Silfverberg.
