Bohus Stickning Allvaret

1840 kr - 4495 kr

Allvaret was designed for Bohus Stickning by Annika Malmström-Bladini in 1953.

The knitting kit for Allvaret was developed in 2014 from original charts and garments held in museum collections. The design is available as knitting kit for a pullover with a round yoke and gloves.

There are differing opinions on whether Allvaret should be written with as "Allvaret" or "Alvaret": Some sources suggest that Allvaret was named after Stora Alvaret on Öland, with its distinctive small wildflowers. However, in Bohus Stickning på nytt, 2015 by Viveka Overland there is a photograph of an original pattern drawing entitled "Allvaret".

The garment is knitted on dark brown base (no 246), angora/merino yarn spun from 50% hand-clipped angora wool from our own angora rabbits and 50% New Zealand merino wool. The yarn is spun in Denmark at Heinrichsens Uldspinderi and is dyed to match the original yarns. The main colours are dyed at the spinning mill to ensure an even saturation across the whole garment. The pattern colours are hand dyed by Pernille Silfverberg.
